The Pattern
The rubble patterns date to ancient times. As a large block of stone was being hewn, smaller scrap pieces were often generated. The larger of these pieces could be squared for use in other projects. These pieces were designated rubble. Pieces are rectangular, but most edges are rounded.

Installation Tip:
Deliberately break the horizontal (bed) joints so the stone pattern will not resemble a brick pattern.
Rubble looks traditional and less formal when installed with a dry joint.
Rubble Stone looks more formal when a 1/2" grout joint is used.
